Japanese Post Modern, a combination of kitsch, naiveté, surprise, juvenile enthusiasm and animé had its influence in product design in the early 1980s.
The palm tree lamp was designed in 1980 by Sony Creative Products in-house design team.
Headlights come on when the switch is turned on. The car is a sliding dimmer. The top of the palm tree comes off to expose the light bulbs. The trunk of the tree is pliable so the tree can be shaped to any postures desired.
White marble base is not included in price but available - see Italian Marble section.
Net weight about 1.5 lbs.

Minor scratches on the base. Electrical and mechanical parts work perfectly.
